The Trucking Fitness Company - My Thoughts
In regards to your inquiry, if I were a president of safety for an insurance company, what would I think about the services you offer:
I believe that your business, the Trucking Fitness Company, uplifts professional drivers' emotional self-esteem, and you provide a safe environment for them to emotionally open up about struggles they're facing, and then offer empowerment, knowledge, and guidance. That, in my opinion, is the greatest service one can offer to another person.
With that in mind, when a professional driver, or any human for that matter, receives continuous verbal encouragement, it's only a matter of time before that individual will start to believe and accept these affirmations. When someone goes through that emotional transformation, where they truly believe they are worthy of self-respect, that is when the true impact can be felt.
So, when I reflect, from the mindset of the president of safety from an insurance organization about the value of your business, a few things come to mind. I will also include my thoughts from the owner of a carrier:
First off, your company impact provides the opportunity to change the mindset of a professional driver. A driver that was once negative mentally, may not have been the best with the clientele because why would they care? But, with the transformation guided by your organization, the negative Nancy is now inspired and from my experience, inspired people are more inclined to go above and beyond. So, the old grumpy driver is now your number one driver to send to unpleasant clients, because you're confident that they can help resolve issues in the field that the sales team may have missed. In addition, your inspired driver will be your biggest salesperson, because they are focused on offering solutions. Solutions that were first invested into them, by your organization.
If a professional driver is "out of shape", possibly overweight, there are obvious health risks. One of the greatest dangers in the transportation industry is driver fatigue. A fit driver has the opportunity to be less fatigued than someone who is not in good health. Now, this does not just apply to the fatigue of drivers while operating a transport vehicle, but all of the other duties required to take place as well. Thorough pre-trip inspections, load securement, proper documentation, obeying the rules of the road, are just some examples of tasks professional drivers need to complete at a high level each shift.
When a professional driver is "out of shape", the risk of fatigue from completing the required tasks increase. This would then domino effect into the tired levels while operating the transport vehicle. As I mentioned prior, fatigue is one of the greatest dangers in the transportation industry. So now that the driver is fatigued, the chances of them falling asleep at the wheel increase. While this is a scary thought, I believe the more common collisions that occur from fatigue would are; rolling the stop sign, not stopping in time while backing, not getting out to look while backing and hit a fixed object, cutting a corner on a narrow street and making contact with a fixed object.
The Trucking Fitness Company has the ability to truly save lives, and I am excited about the journey!
