What An Employer Should Monitor When An Injury Occurs
If you’ve ever dealt with Workers’ Compensation (WCB) as an employer or a worker, you may be wondering….”how did WCB make THAT decision?”
Regardless of the jurisdiction you’re in WCB looks at 3 basic things when considering the acceptance of a WCB claim:
Was the worker in the course of employment?
Was an employment hazard present?
Are the workers symptoms related to what they said happened at work.
As an employer if all 3 of these criteria are met, then your focus should be on managing the claim in a way that gives the worker everything they’re entitled to…in the most cost effective way for you. If however, any one of these 3 things are missing…this is when you would want to look at appealing a WCB claim. Too often employers are making emotional decisions due to a lack of knowledge. The more informed you are the better decisions you’ll make.
If you’re a worker and your claim was denied…chances are it’s because one of these 3 elements were missing.
WCBconsulting.ca was created because there is a need to properly educate employers and workers on the WCB system. To truly help people understand: What WCB does?...Why WCB does it?...and How WCB does it?
If you’ve ever had a question about the WCB system, claims management, or WCB appeals…then WCBconsulting.ca is the place to come to for answers.
